``For most of the game, I just don't think we played very well,'' said South Carolina State coach Willie Jeffries. ``But getting that touchdown at the end shows we never gave up.''

Jeffries said his team won the game, but it still has to do a lot of work to improve. ``We knew this from the beginning, but winning this game will help our confidence,'' he said.

Norfolk State coach Mo Forte said it was a tough game to lose.

``All they were able to do on the last drive was complete that last past and they win the ball game. That's all,'' Forte said. ``It hurts, but you just have to accept it when the game turns out the way this ball game did today.''
