LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Chris Redman had a record-setting day and Frank Moreau rushed for 128 yards as Lousiville posted a 23-14 victory over Alabama-Birmingham in a Conference USA matchup. Redman completed 23-of-34 passes for 224 yards with two touchdowns. The senior quarterback set a new NCAA Division I-A record for most career completions (975), passing BYU's Ty Detmer, who completed 958 passes from 1988-91.

In his career, Redman has thrown for 11,829 yards which ranks second all-time in Division I-A behind Detmer's 15,031 yards.

Percy Coleman scored on a 30-yard run with 3:25 left in the first quarter to give UAB (3-5, 2-2 C-USA) a 7-3 lead. Coleman carried 19 times for 166 yards.

But after that score, Redman found Ibn Green and Arnold Jackson with seven-yard TD passes in the second period to give the Cardinals (6-3, 3-1 C-USA) a 17-7 advantage.

Moreau, who carried 28 times, put the game out of reach with a four-yard run with 10:59 to play in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Daniel Dixon scored on a 19-yard run with just under eight minutes to play for the Blazers.

Dixon completed 9-of-19 passes for 124 yards with an interception. He also carried 24 times for 79 yards.
