Prentice scored on runs of 75, 2 and 72 yards to give him 76 career touchdowns, one more than Williams had for Texas. Prentice has scored 456 points, surpassing Williams' total by four points.

Akron (6-4, 4-3 Mid-American Conference) cut the Miami lead to 25-23 on Brandon Payne's 4-yard run with 4:14 remaining. After the kickoff, Miami (6-3, 5-1) took over at its 20 and Prentice rushed for 5 and 3 yards before breaking the 72-yarder to put the game out of reach.

Prentice's 411 all-purpose yards -- he also caught one pass for 35 yards and threw one incomplete pass -- set a school record and was the second-best total in MAC history.
