CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) _ Rashad West ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as Southeast Missouri State beat Eastern Illinois 45-38 Saturday. It was the third straight win for Southeast Missouri (3-7 overall, 2-4 Ohio Valley Conference), while Eastern Illinois (1-9, 1-5) lost for the sixth straight time. West scored on runs of 4 and 18 yards and connected on a 62-yard scoring pass to Leslie Weaver, while Rick Smith scored on a 3-yard run and Seth Carriere kicked a 42-yard field goal to put the Indians ahead 31-17 at the half. Eastern Illinois rallied in the third quarter, with J.R. Taylor scoring on a 4-yard run and Anthony Buich connecting on a 4-yard scoring pass to Nathan Kreke to tie the game at 31-31. But Southeast Missouri's Sturg Cumberford scored on a 23-yard run and Broderick Benson scored on a 75-yard run to make it 45-31. West finished the game with 11-of-17 passing for 181 yards and one touchdown. Benson rushed for 125 yards. Buich completed 36-of-49 passes for 435 yards and three TD's.
