YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) _ Adrian Brown rushed for 165 yards and one touchdown on 32 carries as Youngstown State defeated Southwest Missouri State 17-14 Saturday. Jared Zwick's 15-yard TD run put the Penguins (8-2, 5-1 Gateway Conference) up 14-7 late in the third quarter. John Berdiner kicked a 24-yard field goal in the fourth to increase Youngstown State's lead to 17-7. Jason Ringena scored from 1-yard out with 4:25 remaining to make it 17-14, but the Bears (3-6, 1-4) were unable to get a stop on defense and Youngstown State ran out the clock. The Bears scored first on a 5-yard pass from Jay Rodgers to Sean Adams. Brown's 5-yard run in the second quarter tied the game 7-7. Ringena gained 87 yards on 21 carries with one touchdown. Jeff Ryan was 8-of-10 passing for 96 yards with one interception for the Penguins. Rodgers was 21-of-30 passing for 242 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. Adams caught seven passes for 105 yards and one touchdown for the Bears.
