Shyrone Stith's 9-yard scoring run made it 24-7 with 3:41 left before halftime. After that the Hokie defense took over. Although Tech allowed 10 points after halftime, the game was never in doubt. The Gators found the end zone twice in a minute span in the fourth quarter to turn a 16-14 affair into a one-sided Florida win. The second TD was set up by a Bulldog turnover on their own two-yard line. Florida's defense, which caused two big turnovers during a stretch early in the second half when neither offense could take control of the game. Wisconsin's Jamar Fletcher returned an interception 93 yards for a TD when Northwestern was threatening to cut it to 14-10. Instead, the Badgers went up 21-3 and slippped into cruise control. Wisconsin RB Ron Dayne, who looks like he has Ricky Williams' career rushing record dead in his sights. Dayne picked up 162 yards on 35 carries, scoring two TDs. Dayne needs 321 yards for the record. Michigan RB Anthony Thomas, who put the Wolverines on his broad shoulders and carried them to victory. Thomas set career highs with 42 carries and 197 yards while scoring three TDs. Washington QB Marques Tuiasosopo, who rewrote the school record books by accounting for 509 total yards (207 rushing, 302 passing).
