TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State quarterback Ryan Kealy underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Tuesday, but is expected to be ready for the Sun Devils' next game, Sept. 18 against New Mexico State.
Kealy was hurt with three minutes left in the first quarter of
Monday night's 31-13 victory over Texas Tech. He did not return
to the contest but could have, if necessary.
"It just kind of popped out of place," Kealy said following the
game. "Once it does that, it just kind of loses stability. You
have to pop it back into place. It's happened before, so I kind
of realized what it was."
Before going down, Kealy completed 2 of 5 passes for 47 yards.
Sophomore John Leonard came on and was 7 of 17 for 117 yards,
while junior Griffin Goodman was 4 of 5 for 47 yards. Kealy, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior, was 150 of 261 for 2,161 yards and 19 touchdowns with nine interceptions last season. | ALSO SEE Redmond, Sun Devils run over Red Raiders 31-13
