CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- Nicole Conway scored 16 points off the bench and Becky Gottstein pulled down 12 rebounds as 25th-ranked Boston College cruised to its eighth straight win, a 66-42 rout of intrastate rival Holy Cross. Conway made 5-of-7 shots from the field and 6-of-6 from the line for the Eagles (12-3), who open the Big East Conference season on Sunday at Syracuse. Gottstein was held to six points on 2-of-8 shooting but Alissa Murphy contributed 12 points, six rebounds and six assists. Boston College shot just under 43 percent (24-of-56) and held a 43-32 rebounding advantage. Jeanette Paukert led Holy Cross (8-4) with 13 points and Monika Rothemich had 10. The Crusaders shot 26 percent (6-of-23) in the first half and fell behind at intermission, 28-15. They made only 2-of-17 3-pointers and committed 22 turnovers.
