CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Juana Brown hit a pair of 3-pointers during a decisive closing run as 23rd-ranked North Carolina ended a five-game losing streak with a 77-67 Atlantic Coast Conference victory over Florida State.

Brown finished with 17 points and LaQuanda Barksdale scored 19 for the Tar Heels (9-7, 2-5 ACC).

North Carolina trailed by as many as six points early in the second half before building a six-point lead. But two free throws by Latavia Coleman lifted Florida State (8-8, 1-5) into a 61-61 tie with 3:14 remaining.

Brown sandwiched 3-pointers around a layup by Jackie Higgins as the Tar Heels began to pull away. They closed with a 16-6 spurt and the final score represented the biggest lead of the game.

Coleman had 20 points and Brooke Wycoff added 14 and seven rebounds for the Lady Seminoles, who have lost five of their last six games.
