MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- Shawnetta Stewart scored 16 of her 22 points in the second half to lead Rutgers (No. 13 ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, No. 11 AP) to a 55-49 victory over West Virginia on Saturday. Rutgers (12-4, 5-2 Big East) overcame a 28-17 halftime deficit -- its largest this season -- to hand the Mountaineers (5-12, 0-6) their seventh-straight loss. Stewart hit a jumper to give Rutgers just its second lead of the game, 36-34, with 11 minutes remaining. West Virginia tied the score twice down the stretch but could not regain the lead. Rutgers finished the game with a 10-2 run. Davalyn Cunningham's two free throws with 1:40 left started the run and gave Rutgers the lead for good, 49-47. Mandy Ronay led West Virginia with 27 points, including 7-of-12 3-pointers. Rutgers held a 38-17 rebounding advantage.
