BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Marie Ferdinand tied a career-high with 25 points to lead LSU to its fourth straight Southeastern Conference victory, 69-59, over Mississippi Sunday.

DeTrina White added her seventh double-double of the season with 13 points and 15 rebounds, while Katrina Hibbert had 12 points and April Brown 11 for the Lady Tigers (No. 15 ESPN/USA Today; No. 14 AP).

With the win, LSU (14-2, 5-1 Southeastern Conference) moved into sole possession of first place in the SEC.

LSU has tied its best-ever start in the SEC. The 1996-97 team also opened with a 5-1 mark.

LSU's four-game SEC winning streak is its longest since the 1986-87 season. The 1982-83 team holds the school-record with six consecutive league wins.

Ole Miss (11-6, 0-4) remained as close as 51-50 midway through the second half, but was then held scoreless for six minutes while LSU increased its lead to 58-50 and never looked back.

In the first half, Ole Miss jumped out to a 13-8 lead behind the 3-point shooting of Von Kirk, who hit three 3-pointers in the first half but finished 3 of 14 from long range.

The Lady Tigers tied the game at 14-14 on a jumper by Hibbert three minutes later and led 33-30 at halftime.

An 8-0 LSU run gave the Lady Tigers a 46-38 lead with 13:28 to play. But 3-pointers by Chandra Dorsey and Becky Myatt helped Ole Miss tie the game at 48-48 just three minutes later.

Ole Miss turned the ball over 18 times compared to 12 for LSU.

LSU, the worst rebounding team in the SEC, hauled in 46 rebounds, while limiting the Lady Rebels to just 35.

Ole Miss entered the game as the top rebounding team in the SEC with just more than 45 a game.
