TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (Ticker) -- No. 21 Mississippi State posted its first victory over Alabama since 1981 as Jennifer Fambrough scored 21 points in an 85-65 Southeastern Conference win. The Lady Bulldogs (15-2, 4-2 SEC) snapped a 26-game losing streak against Alabama and have won four straight overall after consecutive defeats to Florida and Louisiana State. Mississippi State built a 38-30 halftime lead and pulled away over the final 20 minutes, outscoring the Crimson Tide (11-6, 1-3), 47-35. LaToya Thomas added 20 points for the Lady Bulldogs, who forced 23 turnovers and held Alabama to just 40 percent shooting. Mississippi State shot 49 percent (30-of-61). Taquilla Allen scored 16 points and Nicole Carruth 13 for the Crimson Tide, who have dropped three of their last four contests.
