NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Louisiana Tech's Christie Sides finally lived up to coach Leon Barmore's expectations.

The senior guard scored a career-high 22 points and Tech (No. 3 ESPN/USA Today, No. 2 AP) got 32 points from its bench Saturday in a 91-50 Sun Belt Conference victory over New Orleans.

It was the first time in double figures this season for Sides, who entered the game with a 4.2 scoring average.

"I thought Christie Sides played great from start to finish. She played today like I envisioned her playing all year. She really set the tone for us early," Barmore said.

Sides scored 16 points and was 4-for-4 from 3-point range in the first half as Tech closed the first half with a 15-2 run en route to a 44-25 lead. Tech opened the second half with a 15-1 run to take a 43-point lead that wasn't threatened.

Betty Lennox added 18 points, reserve Brooke Lassiter had 13 and Takeisha Lewis had 10 points for Tech (17-2 overall, 8-0 Sun Belt). Lennox and Lewis also had 13 rebounds as Tech won its 28th straight conference game.

Tech, second in the nation in rebounding margin, held a 61-40 rebounding edge over New Orleans (9-10, 5-3).

Officials called 61 fouls, 31 against New Orleans. The Techsters responded by outshooting New Orleans 34-19 from the foul line.

Substitute Keeshawn Carter led New Orleans with 12 points.
