STARKVILLE, Mississippi (Ticker) -- LaToya Thomas scored 27 points as 17th-ranked Mississippi State took a break from its Southeastern Conference schedule with an 84-34 rout of Albany.

Thomas made 8-of-13 shots from the field and contributed seven rebounds and five steals for the Lady Bulldogs (18-5), who were coming off consecutive SEC losses at Georgia and Vanderbilt.

But Albany proved no test for Mississippi State, which raced to a 44-16 halftime lead. Jennifer Fambrough chipped in 17 points, Angela Harris and Cynthia Hall had nine apiece and Nitra Perry added 12 rebounds.

Liz Tucker scored 14 points but was the only player with more than six for Albany (9-15), which shot 22 percent (12-of-54) from the field and committed 26 turnovers.
