LSU reaches 20-victory mark

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Marie Ferdinand scored 23 points Thursday night and No. 9 LSU broke open a tight game with 63 percent shooting in the second half en route to a 58-50 victory over Vanderbilt.

The victory assured LSU (20-4 overall, 9-2 Southeastern Conference) of at least the No. 4 seed and a first-round bye in the SEC tournament.

Freshman Chantelle Anderson and Zuzana Klimesova led Vanderbilt (17-9, 5-7) with 18 points each.

LSU led only 20-17 at halftime, but hit 14-of-22 shots in the second half.

Katrina Hibbert added 14 points for LSU and DeTrina White had 11.
