RICHMOND, Virginia (Ticker) -- No. 13 Old Dominion extended its Colonial Athletic Association winning streak to 100 games with a 66-61 triumph over George Mason in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.

Hamchetou Maiga scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Kim Giddens added 17 points for Old Dominion (25-4). The Lady Monarchs have not lost in the league since the 1994-95 season but got a test today from the eighth-seeded Patriots.

"I thought we battled on the boards and that was the key," ODU coach Wendy Larry said. "I didn't think our shot selection was outstanding and I thought our patience was horrific. We have to do a better job of being patient." Old Dominion will face East Carolina in the semifinals Friday.

"This is the first one," Larry added. "It is very difficult to get this one under your belt and I hope that we will relax and play a much better game tomorrow night." Natalie Diaz had 10 points, eight rebounds and three steals for Old Dominion, which overcome a rough shooting effort. The Lady Monarchs shot just 36 percent (24-of-66), including 2-of-13 from 3-point range. They did hold a 44-36 rebounding edge and capitalized on 21 George Mason turnovers.

Trish Halpin scored 17 points and Chrissy Todd came off the bench to add 15 and 10 rebounds for the Patriots (10-19).
