COLUMBUS, OHIO (Ticker) -- Allison Curtin scored 20 points and Susan Blauser added 11 and eight rebounds as 20th-ranked Illinois opened Big Ten Conference play with its fifth win in six games, a 63-57 overtime triumph over Ohio State. Curtin was 7-of-13 from the floor and hit all four of her 3-point attempts for the Fighting Illini (10-4, 1-0 Big Ten), which shot just 37 percent (20-of-54) from the floor. Shavonna Hunter scored 10 points and Tauja Catchings grabbed 10 rebounds for Illinois, which outscored Ohio State 12-6 in the extra session. LaToya Turner scored 22 points and Michaela Moua added 10 for the Buckeyes (7-4, 0-1), who gained a 25-19 scoring advantage in the second half. Ohio State shot 41 percent (21-of-52) overall from the floor. Curtin scored 13 points in the first half as the Fighting Illini led, 32-26, at intermission. Illinois hosts fifth-ranked Georgia on Sunday in a battle of semifinalists from the preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament. Georgia won the tournament in Champaign, Illinois with the host school finishing third.
