MADISON, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- Katie Douglas scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures as 12th-ranked Purdue opened the Big Ten Conference season with an 83-58 romp over Wisconsin. Playing for the first time since a 32-point loss at Louisiana Tech on December 21, the defending national champions limited Wisconsin to 33 percent shooting en route to a 33-25 halftime lead. The Boilermakers shot nearly 55 percent (17-of-31) in a 50-point second half to pull away. Shinika Parks and Kelly Komara had 16 points apiece and Camille Cooper added 10 and 10 rebounds for Purdue (9-2, 1-0 Big Ten), which has won 23 of the last 28 meetings with the Badgers. It does not easier for Purdue, which hosts sixth-ranked Penn State next Thursday. LaTonya Sims had 13 points and eight rebounds and Tamara Moore scored 12 points for Wisconsin (5-4), which has lost three of its last four games.
