Browne, the Blue Devils' second-leading scorer and top rebounder, suffered the injury Thursday. An MRI on Saturday revealed the torn ACL.

No surgery has been scheduled. In a statement released Monday, team officials said Browne is discussing her options with her parents, doctors and coaching staff. A decision on the rest of the season is expected to be made shortly. Officials added that Browne is considering trying to play while wearing a supportive brace on the knee.

Browne, a 5-foot-11 guard-forward, sat out Sunday's game against Virginia, a 61-49 loss that gave the Cavs sole possession of first place in the ACC. Both teams were 7-1 in the conference entering the game.

Brown suffered the injury with 11:14 to play after falling to the floor -- untouched -- on a breakaway layup in a 101-58 victory over North Carolina on Thursday.

Browne started the first 20 games of the season, leading Duke to an 18-2 record before the injury. She was averaging 13.7 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds and 3.1 steals. Browne also was averaging 2.5 assists, and was shooting 47.4 percent (100 of 211) from the field.
