Mangakhia nets 27, No. 17 Syracuse women drop BC 76-59

BOSTON -- Tiana Mangakahia scored 27 points with eight assists and seven rebounds and No. 17 Syracuse closed the regular season on Sunday by pulling away for a 76-59 win over Boston College.

Digna Strautmane added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Orange (23-7, 12-5 Atlantic Coast Conference), who led by one at halftime and eight after three quarters.

Mangakahia, who scored 44 points on 16-for-20 shooting in a 94-88 win over No. 22 Florida State on Thursday, was just 8 of 23 from the field but surpassed 1,000 points in just her 60th game at Syracuse. She is the fastest to reach that milestone in school history.

Mangakhia had 11 points in the third quarter and nine in the fourth. When BC pulled within a point with three minutes left in the third quarter, she had a layup and two free throws in a 6-0 burst.

Syracuse shot 54 percent in the second half and a 37 percent first half despite going 9 of 18 from distance for the game.

Emma Guy scored 18 points for Boston College (14-15, 3-13), which goes into the conference tournament with an eight-game losing streak.
