Holmes scores 22, leads No. 14 Texas women over Kansas 91-73

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Joyner Holmes matched a career-high with 22 points and No. 14 Texas jumped out early and beat Kansas 91-73 on Saturday night.

The Longhorns (19-5, 9-3 Big 12) swept the season series with Kansas (12-10, 2-9) for the sixth consecutive season, and rebounded from a tough home loss to top-ranked Baylor, 74-68 on Monday night.

Holmes made 9 of 12 field goals, grabbed six rebounds and recorded her 11th game in double-figure scoring. She also had 15 points and eight rebounds in a win over the Jayhawks last month. Danni Williams added 14 points for Texas. Sug Sutton had 12 points, six assists, and two of the Longhorns' six steals.

Kylee Kopatich scored 18 points to lead the Jayhawks. Aniya Thomas added 10 of her 15 points in the second half.

Texas made six of 10 shots during a 15-0 run to start the game. Holmes scored 14 points in the first half as the Longhorns built a 43-26 halftime lead. Holmes also scored 22 points against Houston Baptist on Nov. 16, 2016.
