Silver Ferns name Langman and Folau

Silver Ferns greats Laura Langman and Maria Folau have shelved any plans of retirement and are set to face Australia in the Constellation Cup series in October.

Both Test centurions were key figures in New Zealand's World Cup triumph in Liverpool in July, including the 52-51 thriller against the Diamonds in the final.

While veteran defender Casey Kopua confirmed her retirement after the tournament, there was strong speculation that captain/midcourter Langman, 33, and shooter Folau, 32, would also hang up their international bibs.

However, the star pair, who both play in Australia's Super Netball competition, have both been included in a 16-strong Silver Ferns squad.

Coach Noeline Taurua will trim the group to 12 ahead of the four-match Constellation Cup series, which Australia have dominated for the last six years and have won eight out of nine times since its inception in 2010.

Aside from Kopua, Taurua has retained her World Cup squad, with the addition of five players who all have Test experience - shooter Maia Wilson, defender Michaela Sokolich-Beatson and midcourters Whitney Souness, Kimiora Poi and Sam Sinclair.

The opening Constellation Cup clash is in Christchurch on October 13, followed by Tests in Auckland, Sydney and Perth.
