Keyshawn Johnson
The Jets' Keyshawn Johnson lit up the Dolphins two weeks ago.

Why to watch:
The struggling Dolphins are right in the thick of the AFC wild-card race, while the Jets are relishing their role as a spoiler. In fact, New York soundly defeated Miami 28-20 two weeks ago at the Meadowlands.

The Jets have won three of their last five, and last week they became the first visiting team to win in Dallas this season with a 22-21 victory over the Cowboys. The Jets certainly have played better football over the last month than the Dolphins, who broke a three-game losing streak with an ugly 12-9 victory over the Chargers last week in Miami.

Miami currently holds one of the AFC's three wild-card spots, but a loss here could put the Fish back on the outside looking in. Considering all the controversy in South Florida this season, it's possible this will be the final home game for coach Jimmy Johnson, legendary quarterback Dan Marino or both.

Who to watch:
The marquee matchup is a rematch between Jets WR Keyshawn Johnson and Dolphins CB Sam Madison. The first meeting of these two talkative Pro Bowlers was a complete mismatch as Johnson caught a career-high 11 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns. It got so bad late in the game that Miami was no longer using Madison to cover Johnson one-on-one. Look for the Dolphins to key on Keyshawn with double-coverage this time.

MNF Scouting Report

Jets QB Ray Lucas is showing improvement each week and is really starting to look comfortable in the pocket. He completed 22 of 38 passes for 230 yards and two TDs without an interception in the first meeting with Miami. Jets RB Curtis Martin, who was shunned for the AFC Pro Bowl team, ranks second in the conference with 1,239 rushing yards.

Marino got his first win last week in his four starts since returning from a pinched nerve in his neck. Still, the future Hall of Famer has thrown more interceptions (13) than touchdown passes (nine) this season and has completed just 55.7 percent of his passes.

The big problem for the Dolphins is the running game -- more specifically the absence of a healthy featured back. Dolphins FB Stanley Pritchett was forced to carry the load last week while rookie J.J. Johnson was out with a hamstring injury. Rookie RB Autry Denson even got five carries last week -- and the kid from Notre Dame has just seven carries on the season. Johnson is questionable to return this week, and Miami could definitely use him.

INJURY REPORT
Jets: QUESTIONABLE: S Steve Atwater (hamstring); DT Jason Wiltz (toe).

Dolphins: QUESTIONABLE: WR Oronde Gadsden (ribs); RB J.J. Johnson (hamstring); WR O.J. McDuffie (toe). PROBABLE: TE Troy Drayton (knee); TE Hunter Goodwin (back); LB Robert Jones (tricep); CB Patrick Surtain (concussion); DE Jason Taylor (ankle); S Shawn Wooden (quadricep).

Dolphins WR Tony Martin needs just 67 yards to reach 1,000 on the season. Dolphins WR Oronde Gadsden leads the team with five TD catches. Dolphins DE Rich Owens will try to add to his team-high nine sacks.

Jets' numbers to know:
The Jets own a turnover-margin of plus-11 with 30 takeaways and 19 giveaways. That mark is better than every team in the NFL but the Chiefs, Jaguars and Titans. Miami, by the way, is dead-even with 31 takeaways and 31 giveaways.

Dolphins' numbers to know:
Miami ranks 24th in the NFL in total offense, but fifth in total defense. The Dolphins are gaining just 294.8 yards per game, but are allowing only 274.6.

What it means:
The Dolphins finish their season next Sunday in Washington against a Redskins team that might need a victory to win the NFC East. In other words, Miami needs to win its home finale to maintain its solid standing as a wild-card team.

The Jets still have a chance at a .500 season, and they'd like nothing better than to ruin the Dolphins' year by sweeping the season series.
