The Raiders make their way to Qualcomm Stadium in position to sweep this original AFL rivalry for the second consecutive year.

Six weeks ago at Oakland (Week 10), Raiders QB Rich Gannon threw for 254 yards and 4 touchdowns as Jon Gruden's team coasted to a 28-9 triumph.

Including playoffs, the Raiders own a 49-29-2 advantage in this series and have prevailed in the last 4 meetings dating back to 1997.

As for the Raiders' last appearance at Qualcomm Stadium (Week 16 of '98), QB Wade Wilson threw for 167 yards and a pair of second-quarter scores (2 INTs) and the Oakland defense limited the Bolts to just 79 yards rushing as the Silver and Black held on for a 17-10 win.

The Raiders have won three straight and are 7-2 in their last nine trips to San Diego dating back to 1990 as the visiting team is 13-6 in the last 19 installments of this rivalry this decade.

Numbers: In their last 30 games dating back to '98 (11-19), four Chargers quarterbacks (Ryan Leaf, Erik Kramer and Jim Harbaugh, as well as since-departed Craig Whelihan) have combined to throw just 20 touchdown passes, while totaling 55 interceptions and 28 fumbles. The Chargers have allowed 67 points in six wins, 223 points in eight losses in '99. The Chargers have committed 29 turnovers in 23 wins, 119 turnovers in 39 losses since '96. They have been limited to 17 or fewer points in 23 of their last 33 contests dating back to '97. The Chargers have forced two or more turnovers in four straight games. The Chargers have limited the opposition to fewer than 100 yards rushing in three straight games.

Things to look for: The Silver and Black comes off its most impressive outing in years and still finds itself in the playoff picture, even though wins in their last two games still might not get it done. The San Diego defense looked solid at Miami but once again got no support from its offensive counterparts, and it will be interesting to see if Chargers' QB Jim Harbaugh can rediscover the end zone this week.

Etc.: Raiders WR Tim Brown (762) needs two catches to tie James Lofton (764) for 8th place on the NFL's all-time receptions list. Brown (10,713) needs three yards to tie Stanley Morgan (10,716) for 13th place on the NFL's all-time receiving yardage list. Brown has caught at least one pass in 106 straight games.
