Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden has a concussion and is unlikely to play Sunday for the Cleveland Browns.
Haden is in the NFL's concussion protocol after leaving an overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth quarter. Coach Mike Pettine conceded that it is highly unlikely that Haden will face the Denver Broncos this week.
"I would say that [missing at least one game] would be average," Pettine said Monday on a conference call.
Haden has battled injuries all season. He injured ribs and broke a finger in a loss to the Oakland Raiders, then he did not play the following week in a loss to the San Diego Chargers.
He tried to play with pain in Baltimore but left after the first play of the fourth quarter when he got hit in the air and his head struck the ground when he landed.
If Haden can't play, the Browns could use Pierre Desir outside at corner, with K'Waun Williams continuing as the nickelback.
Quarterback Josh McCown had his ankle rolled in overtime, but Pettine said he does not believe McCown will miss any time.
"If we have to give him a day off, we will," Pettine said.
McCown set a Browns record by throwing for 457 yards Sunday. He also had two touchdown passes and one touchdown run.
Linebacker Scott Solomon injured a knee during the win and will miss a few weeks. Solomon had just returned from an ankle injury.
