Henry Ruggs III expected to be OK for start of Las Vegas Raiders training camp

Wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, the first-round pick of the Las Vegas Raiders who injured his thigh last month while helping a friend move, suffered no muscular damage and is expected to be ready for training camp when it begins, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Ruggs did need stitches to repair the cut to his thigh, which he suffered while moving things into a trailer for a friend.

His father, Henry Ruggs Jr., told AL.com at the time that "the trailer just kind of pinned him against a car or a wall or something," while noting his son was walking on crutches and not putting much pressure on the leg amid his recovery.

The Raiders previously said they were aware of the incident but refused further comment, citing the rookie's medical privacy.

Ruggs III, the No. 12 overall pick, was the first receiver selected in April's draft, a historically deep draft for the position. He was also the fastest player in the draft, having run a 4.27-second 40 time at the combine.
