NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Stacy Roest scored twice, including the game-winner with 8:45 remaining, as the Detroit Red Wings posted a 3-1 exhibition victory over the Nashville Predators. Roest finished a 2-on-2 break with Brendan Shanahan by converting the centering pass and beating goaltender Tomas Vokoun. He added an empty-net tally in the final minute. Ville Peltonen lifted Nashville into a 1-1 tie 11:47 into the second period with a power-play goal. He took a pass from Cliff Ronning and scored into the top left corner of the net. Chris Osgood turned aside 27 of 28 shots for Detroit, improving to 3-0-1 in the preseason. Vyacheslav Kozlov opened the scoring with a power-play goal for the Red Wings, who played without Steve Yzerman, Sergei Fedorov, Igor Larionov and Chris Chelios. At 0-5-2, Nashville remained one of three winless teams.
