TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Dominic Roussel made the most of his first start.

The Anaheim goaltender stopped 14 shots, including Stan Drulia's third-period penalty shot, as the Mighty Ducks beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 Friday night.

Daren Puppa made 26 saves in net Friday for the Lightning, who were outshot 29-16.
"The play of the game, really," Anaheim coach Craig Hartsburg said. "What can you say?"

Roussel made a pad save on Drulia, who tried to shoot the puck behind the goalie's legs.

"I was just thinking, do whatever I have to do to stop it," Roussel said. "I made sure I didn't give him to much to shoot at."

When asked about the last time he faced a penalty shot, Roussel said he couldn't remember and added "it probably went in."

Mike Leclerc scored the tie-breaking goal early in the third period. Ted Donato and Paul Kariya had the other Anaheim goals.

Leclerc's goal from the slot with 18:20 left after a pass from Jason Marshall broke a 2-2 tie as the Mighty Ducks snapped a three-game road losing streak.

"It hit a skate coming into the slot, I just threw it on the net and the red light came on," Leclerc said.

Stephane Richer had two goals for the Lightning, who have dropped three straight. His goal 61 seconds into the game stopped Tampa Bay's 105-minute, 13-second scoring drought.

"We spoiled a good performance by Richer," Tampa Bay coach Steve Ludzik said. "Obviously a game we could have won. We outhit them and the chances were pretty equal. We're not scoring goals. These are the type of games we have to learn how to win."

Anaheim winger Jim McKenzie returned from a four-game suspension stemming from an altercation during an Oct. 2 game against Dallas. Defenseman Pascal Trepanier is eligible to return from a five-game suspension Saturday.

Tampa Bay forward Shawn Burr pulled a groin muscle during the morning skate and afterward said he would probably be sidelined 1-2 weeks. The Lightning placed Burr on injured reserve and recalled defenseman Ben Clymer from Detroit of the IHL.

Anaheim, scheduled to play at Florida on Saturday, stayed in Tampa Friday night because of Hurricane Irene. "Wind and rain doesn't bother ducks," Hartsburg jested. "They always say it's good weather for a duck."
