TORONTO -- Florida Panthers right wing Pavel Bure did not dress for Wednesday night's 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs after suffering a strained right groin in Tuesday's win at Montreal.
Bure, who had a goal and an assist in Tuesday's win, left midway through the third period and received treatement for the injury Wednesday. He has three goals and two assists in four games, helping the Panthers to a 3-0-1 start. Mellanby, 33, lost his balance, fell awkwardly and banged his head against the end boards. He was unconscious for 30 seconds but was able to move his legs as he was taken off on a stretcher. Mellanby, the Panthers' captain, has one assist in four games this season after collecting 18 goals and 27 assists in 67 contests in 1998-99. In 435 games over six seasons with the Panthers, he has 135 goals and 160 assists. | ALSO SEE Perreault, Leafs take advantage of Bure-less Panthers
