| PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday traded
defenseman Karl Dykhuis to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for
future considerations.
Because the Flyers this week signed Ulf Samuelsson and had a surplus of defensemen, the team sent Dykhuis to Montreal and placed defenseman Luke Richardson on waivers, general manager Bob Clarke said. Dykhuis, 27, had one assist and six penalty minutes in five games with the Flyers this season. In 227 NHL games with the Flyers, Dykhuis had 13 goals, 41 assists for 54 points and 211 penalty minutes.
