Lindros misses another game

SportsTicker

PHILADELPHIA -- All-Star center Eric Lindros continues to battle a viral infection and will miss his second straight game Saturday when the Philadelphia Flyers host the New Jersey Devils.

Lindros also sat out Thursday's 5-4 overtime victory over Colorado.

Lindros has points in six of his last eight games and is tied for second on the team in scoring with four goals and five assists in 11 contests. After an 0-5-1 start, the Flyers have won five of their last six games and are tied with New Jersey for first place in the Atlantic Division with 12 points.

The 26-year-old Lindros missed the final seven games of the 1998-99 regular season and all six playoff contests after suffering a collapsed right lung on April 1 at Nashville. He also sat out most of the preseason with a back injury.

Lindros has a history of injury problems, missing at least nine games in each of the past four seasons. He sat out the first 23 games in 1996-97 with a groin ailment and was sidelined for 18 contests the following season while recovering from a concussion.
