Financial terms were undisclosed, but the Chicago Tribune said the deal was worth $9.6 million.

Mironov, 27, missed the first 16 games of the season while his agent, Paul Theofanous, and the Blackhawks tried to work out a new contract. Mironov made his season debut during Sunday's 6-3 loss to the team that Chicago acquired him from, the Edmonton Oilers. Mironov was scoreless, had three shots on net and finished a minus-two.

A strong puck-handler, Mironov is a force on the power play, having scored five of his 11 goals last season with the man advantage. He also had 38 assists while playing 75 games for Chicago and Edmonton.

Without the 6-foot-3, 223-pound Russian, the Hawks were in the top third of the NHL on the power play, ranking eighth at 19.7 percent (12-for-61) before Saturday's games. But they have only 44 goals and are last in the Central Division at 4-9-4 through Sunday night's loss.

Mironov has 49 goals and 149 assists in 397 NHL games with Chicago, Edmonton and Winnipeg. He was acquired March 20 in a seven-player deal with the Oilers.

The signing comes one day after the Hawks dealt defenseman Bryan Muir and forward Reid Simpson to Tampa Bay for center Michael Nylander. Nylander had a goal in his Blackhawks debut Sunday against the Oilers.
