Lindros to be re-evaluated after Wednesday

Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA -- Eric Lindros will miss at least two games for the Flyers because of a strained back.

Lindros was ordered not to skate in Tuesday night's game against St. Louis and Wednesday's game with Dallas.

The center tried to skate Monday morning but worked out only briefly and was told not to skate for two days by team orthopedist Dr. Art Bartolozzi. He will be reevaluated after that.

"We'd love to have him back," Mark Recchi said. "The main concern is getting him 100 percent before the playoffs. If it means him missing another week, that's fine. That doesn't bother us. We have to continue doing the same things."

Philadelphia also won't have Keith Primeau (broken rib), Ulf Samuelsson (shoulder), Dan McGillis (groin) and Luke Richardson (collarbone) for the two-game midwestern swing. Also, Sandy McCarthy (groin) and Gino Odjick (groin) are questionable.

The Flyers are relying heavily on their minor-league affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, for reinforcements. Rookie defensemen Andy Delmore and Mark Eaton are making the trip, as well as center Peter White.

"It will be a test," said interim head coach Craig Ramsay.
