Blues' Sammy Blais returns after 28-game absence due to wrist surgery

St. Louis Blues forward Sammy Blais was activated from injured reserve and back in action for the team's 5-4 shootout win against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night.

Blais didn't get on the score sheet but did play 11-plus minutes for the visiting Blues, recording four hits.

The 23-year-old Blais had missed 28 games while recovering from surgery on his right wrist. He played 20 games before the injury, posting five goals and eight points for the Western Conference-leading Blues.

St. Louis went 17-8-3 in Blais' absence.
