Former Brisbane Bronco arrested on assault charges

Former Broncos halfback Anthony Milford has been arrested and charged with assault following an incident in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley.

Milford, who is making a move to the Rabbitohs for the 2022 season, was charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of wilful damage.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court next month.

Brisbane Broncos released a statement saying Milford had "completed his contractual duties" and was "on leave" until the start of the 2022 season.

"As the matter is now before the courts, the Broncos will make no further comment," the statement concluded.
