Former Olympic sprinter Montell Douglas will become the first woman to represent Team GB at both a summer and winter Games after being named in the bobsleigh squad for Beijing 2022.
The 36-year-old had previously represented Great Britain in the 100m at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, but will now compete as breakwoman in Mica McNeill's two-woman sled, 14 years after her Olympic debut.
"It's very special because it has been very, very challenging," Douglas told the BBC. "It's such a strange feeling. Beforehand, I had thoughts of how it would feel, but I think it's more of a relief.
"I'm over the moon to be representing women. There have been many male summer and winter Olympians, so I'm more thrilled about leaving a legacy like that behind than anything else.
"To come full circle, after 14 years and at the end of my career, that blows my mind. You're never too old, it's never too late, you should always dream and dream big."
Meanwhile, former Olympic long jump champion Greg Rutherford's Winter Olympic dreams were crushed after his four-man sled failed to qualify for Beijing.
The 34-year-old only began training for the event in April, and made his bobsleigh World Cup debut earlier this month.
