Munster kept alive their healthy lead at the summit of the Magners League with a 20-10 victory over Aironi at the Stadio Luigi Zaffanella on Sunday.
A try from flanker Donnacha Ryan and a penalty try just before the hour mark won the game for the visitors, with Paul Warwick converting both and landing a brace of penalties.
Warwick gave the hosts the lead in the sixth minute with a penalty and then re-established their advantage again in the 20th minute after Aironi fly-half James Marshall had slotted a penalty for the hosts. Ryan was sin-binned for Munster in the 29th minute, aiding Aironi in their efforts to hold the visitors at bay.
But following his return, Ryan touched down for the opening try in the 50th minute following a move from the lineout with Warwick adding the extras.
The Munster fly-half was accurate again with another conversion seven minutes later following a penalty try as the Irish side took advantage of successive yellow cards for Aironi's Giulio Toniolatti and Gareth Krause.
Aironi hit back late on with a try through former Munster No.8 Nick Williams, which was converted by replacement Riccardo Bocchino, but Munster were never in trouble and held on to maintain their lead at the top.
