After their problems with injuries in this year's Super 12 the Sharks have signed 13 new players for next year - in a bid to increase the strength in depth of the squad. Alongside the new signings three vastly experienced players - Butch James, Brent Russell and John Smit - have all signed new three year deals with the Sharks. Amongst the 13 new signings are a hand full of young players who coach Kevin Putt has identified as crucial to the sides long term development.- Alistair Hargreaves (Lock), Bradley Barritt (Centre), Johan Synman (Lock), Scott Spedding (Flyhalf), JC Strauss (Prop). Backs: Jacques Schutte, Tsepo Kokoali, Dean Hall, Gcobani Bobo, Odwa Ndungane and Ruan Pienaar.
