Pat Lam names seven debutants for Bristol's Championship opener

Seven players will make their competitive debuts for Bristol when they take on Hartpury in their Championship opener on Sunday.

New coach Pat Lam has picked former All Black Steven Luatua at blindside flanker and Australian international Luke Morahan on the wing, while Ireland international Ian Madigan will make his bow at flyhalf after his summer arrival from Top 14 side Bordeaux.

Nick Haining, Sione Faletau and Dan Thomas also make their debuts for Bristol, while Joe Latta will captain the side in his first appearance for the club.

Williams, Morahan, Hurrell, Pisi, Varndell, Madigan, Williams; Bevington, Harris-Wright, Faletau, Jeffries, Latta (c), Luatua, Thomas, Haining.
