Scott Baldwin ruled out long term as Wales suffer fresh injury blow

Six Nations, Rugby

Ospreys and Wales hooker Scott Baldwin is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a foot injury.

Baldwin, who famously picked up a serious hand wound from a lion bite in September 2017, became the latest player to sustain an injury at the Wales training camp ahead of the Six Nations.

Baldwin said via social media: "It's not the way I saw my second week back in Wales training camp but that's sport. Injuries happen.

"I'm disappointed as I've really enjoyed being back in the squad after an up and down season so far. There's been a real buzz about this Six Nations camp.

"Long road of recovery ahead but I'll be backing the team from the sofa for this campaign now."

Wales head coach Warren Gatland is already without the services of British & Irish Lions Rhys Webb, Dan Biggar, Sam Warburton, Taulupe Faletau, Jonathan Davies and Dan Lydiate for at least the first three rounds of the competition.
