TOP 14 semifinal: Dan Carter and Pat Lambie out of Racing 92 vs. Castres

Rugby, Top 14 Orange

Dan Carter and Pat Lambie have been ruled out of Racing 92's French Top 14 semifinal clash with Castres at this weekend.

Former All Blacks fly-half Carter missed the French club's Champions Cup final defeat to Leinster while Lambie lasted just three minutes into clash in Bilbao and is also ruled out.

Carter will move to Japan at the end of the season but the team are hopeful the hamstring injury which cost him a chance at competing for the Champions Cup could yet see him take part in the final, should Racing 92 reach the decider.

With both Carter and Lambie out, the fly-half duties will fall on the shoulder of Remi Tales, 34, who replaced Carter on the bench and then Lambie in the European final.

Castres also received some unwanted news with front row Jody Jenneker ruled out of the semifinal having received a three-week ban for a red card he picked up in last weekend's win over Toulouse.
