Ireland have called up Ulster's Rob Herring to replace injured hooker Sean Cronin ahead of their World Cup quarterfinal against defending champions New Zealand Saturday.
The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) confirmed on Thursday that Cronin, 33, has been ruled out for the remainder of the World Cup with a neck injury he suffered this week.
Herring, 29, becomes the second player to join up with the squad during the tournament along with back row Jordi Murphy.
The IRFU also said they will not appeal Bundee's Aki ban which means he will miss the rest of the tournament.
World Rugby handed the Ireland centre a three-match ban after his red card in the victory over Samoa.
An IRFU statement read: "The Ireland Management will not appeal the sanction handed down to Bundee Aki.
"We are disappointed with the outcome and believe that Bundee's time will be best served helping prepare the squad for its remaining Rugby World Cup fixtures."
Ireland face world No. 1 side New Zealand in the quarterfinals on Saturday as they look to reach the World Cup semifinals for the first time.
