Saracens' Ben Spencer called up for England ahead of RWC final

YOKOHAMA -- Saracens scrum-half Ben Spencer has flown to Japan to replace the injured Willi Heinz in England's squad ahead of the 2019 Rugby World Cup final.

Heinz was a 63rd minute replacement for Ben Youngs in England's 19-7 win over the All Blacks on Saturday, but he sustained a hamstring injury in the closing stages and has been ruled out of the World Cup final where England will play either South Africa or Wales.

Eddie Jones originally named two scrum-halves in the 31-man England squad, with George Ford a potential third makeshift option.

But with England now preparing for their biggest match since reaching the 2007 final, Spencer is being flown out after Heinz faced further assessment on Sunday.

England will continue to monitor Jonny May and Kyle Sinckler's fitness ahead of next Saturday's final.
