Willis Halaholo is included on the bench and will make his Test debut if given the chance. Josh Macleod was in line to make his debut at blindside for the injured Dan Lydiate, but he too was ruled out through an injury he picked up in training.

"The most disappointing is young Josh Macleod, who missed the autumn, was named [in the team on Wednesday] in front of his peers, only to be stretchered off in training half an hour later. He ruptured his Achilles tendon," Wales coach Wayne Pivac said.

"With Lyds and Navidi out, we've got three quality players unavailable. Aaron's an experienced player."

Wales are also without George North, Josh Navidi, Tomos Williams, Johnny Williams, Jonathan Davies and Hallam Amos, while Josh Adams is suspended.

Speaking about the uncapped Halaholo, Pivac said: "He's got the ability to break the line which not everyone has. Hopefully we'll see that on the weekend.

"I'm from New Zealand and I coached Willis over there. I know him well. He's got a good head on his shoulders despite a tough upbringing. He brings to us an exciting skillset."
