Penn Entertainment launched its ESPN BET sportsbook
in New York this week, joining eight other operators in the largest state betting market in the U.S.
A spokesperson Penn Entertainment on Thursday confirmed the soft launch of the ESPN-branded sportsbook and added an official rollout will occur Friday.
It's the 19th state in which Penn Entertainment operates its ESPN BET sportsbook.
Penn officials had hoped to launch the sportsbook ahead of football season, but experienced delays in the licensing process. New York sportsbooks won a net $91.5 million over the first two weeks of the NFL season, according to revenue reports from the state gaming commission.
