In the second half, it was all Madrid. Sergio Ramos was awarded a penalty kick and scored in the 63rd minute, and Luka Modric capped the scoring in the 90th minute. The win ended a two-match losing streak for Madrid, which suffered two surprise home defeats in a week to Cadiz and Shakhtar Donetsk.
