The United States saw its 2022 World Cup dream come to an end on Saturday with a 3-1 loss to the Netherlands on Saturday. Fans of the USMNT are rightfully crushed to see their team go home after a dramatic push to reach the round of 16 for the first time since the 2014 World Cup.

It's a long time until Americans will see Gio Reyna, Christian Pulisic and Co. in World Cup competition in 2026. If they need something to cheer them up, Waffle House is here to help.

Now, Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, is one of the world's great cities. The country features stunning tulip fields and miles of cycling routes. At the Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery in The Hague, visitors can see Johannes Vermeer's masterpiece "Girl with a Pearl Earring."

So while the Dutch soccer team moves on and seeks to win its first World Cup title, Americans will just have to drown their soccer sorrows in maple syrup.
