Despite not being with the Cleveland Cavaliers when they clinched their first title last season, coach David Blatt (fired midseason) and big man Anderson Varejão (traded and, ironically, ultimately signed by the Western Conference-champion Golden State Warriors) both were eligible to receive rings.
Blatt accepted his. Varejão reportedly is undecided. So SportsNation asked its hosts this question in the video above, and we ask you:
Blatt was fired in January, midway through his second season as Cavaliers coach. He had a 30-11 record at the time but had to watch as Tyronn Lue guided Cleveland to the Finals, where the Cavs overcame a 3-1 deficit to Varejão and the Warriors.
Varejão spent 11-plus seasons with the Cavaliers before being traded in February, in the deal that brought Channing Frye to Cleveland. He was waived by the Portland Trail Blazers, then signed by Golden State.
