You could see the breakup between the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony coming from a long way away, and the forward's seven-year tenure with the team finally ended Saturday when he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In return, the Knicks will receive Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott and a second-round pick in the 2018 draft.
ESPN's Kevin Pelton gave New York mediocre marks for the deal
due to the minimal return, though he acknowledges the Knicks had little leverage. Meanwhile, Pelton likes the trade for Oklahoma City, particularly because of the low cost.
