Aces All-Star forward Wilson sprains ankle in loss

Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson became the latest high-profile WNBA player to suffer an injury after she sprained her left ankle in the team's 69-66 loss at Seattle on Friday.

Wilson had five points and two rebounds in just over 21 minutes before leaving the game because of the injury. She did not return.

The Aces said she would be reevaluated when the team returned to Las Vegas.

Wilson, who was the 2018 Rookie of the Year, is one of the captains for the WNBA All-Star game next Saturday in Las Vegas. Her status for the game is unclear.

The other captain, leading vote-getter Elena Delle Donne, returned Friday after missing three games because of a broken nose. She led Washington with 28 points and 15 rebounds in a 95-88 overtime victory at Indiana.

Another All-Star, Seattle guard Jewell Loyd, also returned to action Friday after suffering an ankle injury on June 25. She played 8 minutes, 31 seconds in the Storm's victory, going scoreless on 0-for-5 shooting.
